What is "kakuuchi"?
Kakuuchi (角打ち) refers to a space inside a liquor store where customers can drink the sake they've purchased, typically while standing. It is said to have originated when customers started using part of the store to drink their newly bought liquor. Nowadays, kakuuchi is enjoyed in various forms. It offers an easy way to sample different brands of sake, though the service is simpler than at a restaurant.
